Venue

The conference will be held at the Main Campus of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), located at Pleinlaan 2, 1050 Brussels.

The VUB is the main Flemish-speaking university of Brussels, with a strong history of promoting academic freedom and free inquiry. The Computer Science department of the VUB houses the VUB AI lab, the first laboratory focusing on AI to be founded on European mainland.

Getting to Brussels

The city is served by two airports and one international train station:
  • Brussels Airport (BRU). Located in Zavantem, just outside Brussels. It is possible to reach the campus from there by train (more expensive, in about 30 minutes) or by bus and tram (less expensive, in about 40 minutes).
  • Brussels South Charleroi Airport (CRL). Located in Charleroi, it is furhter away from the city. It is possible to reach Brussels using private transfert services (Flibco) that connect the airport to the Gare du Midi (Brussels South train station) in about 45 minutes. Otherwise, it is possible to take public transport, using an extra-urban bus (Le TEC) departing from the airport and taking a train (SNCB) towards brussels either in Fleurus, Luttre, or Charleroi. The entire trip takes about 90 minutes.
  • Gare du Midi. Located in central Brussels, offers frequent trains to London and Paris, as well as many cities in the Netherlands, France and Germany.
*Please note that the Metro, Tram, and Buses are managed by STIB/MVIB, while trains are managed by SNCB, therefore different tickets and fares may be needed for trains.

Getting to the campus

The campus is easily reachable via public transport:
  • Tram 7 and tram 25: VUB stop (1 minute walk from the campus)
  • Bus 95: Etterbeek Station stop (2 minutes walk from the campus)
  • Metro 5: Delta stop (10 minute walk from the campus)
  • Train*: Etterbeek Station (2 minutes walk from the campus)
